Saturday 5 October 2013

It's been a while since our last blog but we have been busy busy busy.  We have been to Kington Show, Bromyard Folk Festival, Rye Bread Festival, in the last month (did you see my ugly mug in the Hereford Times, Sam thinks I look like a sunflower, I did say I am full of sunshine!!) with all these events we would like to thank all our customers for their support without you all we wouldn't be trading.

It is approaching a quieter month for us, (a breather at last) we will be selling Cider breads at Wye Valley Brewery Open Day on 19th October so make a date, come try lots of samples of fabulous cider, lots to keep the children entertained whilst you parents enjoy the tempting, delicious offerings of our breads.

We will be at Flavours of Herefordshire again this year selling breads and pastys on the market in front of Marks and Spencer, lets hope the weather is kind.

We plan to open our School for Baking in November so watch this space for more details, it would be a great Christmas Gift.

Thanks for reading will be in touch soon.

Your exhausted Bakers!

Mother's Day's gone but mum's still the word isn't it?

Sometimes in business even if you put all your efforts into a special day for your baby (our business baby is Loafers in case you haven't guessed) you just get a pile of poop!

In our case it was Mothers's Day Brioche Bows.  Here's the smashing picture of Dr Darren all dressed up in his bow tie with a basket of bows.  We sold a few but we can't really complain because we were just pipped or 'bunned' out of any press by a wonderful campaign - the Mother's Bunday' for The Haven Cancer Charity.  We're happy to applaud someone else's baby and give a big thumbs up to the whole idea which raised monies for local charities.  What a great cause.

But just like every mum, it doesn't change to way we look after our business baby o r the fact that it's a full time job! and I guess we need to start thinking how we can make sure Loafers is ready for Easter.  Spelt hot cross buns? Would that work? We don't even know if its possible ..... what would you like to see at Loafers this Easter? Let us know!

2013 Events Posted!

Hello Loafer Lovers and 'Loaflets'!

A belated Happy 2013 - we hope it'll be sunny, prosperous and full of new baking treats for everyone.

Actually, we've hatched a wonderful idea for Mother's Day but 'mum's the word' until after Valentine's... less than a month away... Hmm, what can we cook up for you and your lover?

Hopefully the weather's on the up and we'll be seeing more of you. We were snowed in for a couple of days at home so sorry to the Bromyard folk who missed their daily orders... We're back again!
